Parents,
Mrs. Martin, our school lunch provider needs a sack lunch count for our field trip by Tuesday. In order to make this quick and easy, I am sending out an email to a SurveyMonkey survey. It should take about 2 minutes to fill out. Please try to get this survey submitted by Tuesday, Sep 4 so that we will have an accurate lunch count. The link for the survey is also here. The cost of the field trip is $5 for the bus to Creamers and for the bird banding demonstration. Please have the money to me by Sep 13th. If there is an issue paying the $5 please let me know. Thank you so much for your continued support. Have a wonderful three day weekend, and happy birthday to Caden and Christian!! Mrs. T
Today the first newsletter went home along with some papers from the office, as well as forms for parents to fill out if you were unable to attend the Open House. I told students today, but it would benefit students greatly if their planners were checked everyday. While there will usually not be extra homework in there, we do use our planners as a record of what occurs throughout the day and what should have been turned in. If a student comes home and says the inevitable "Eh, nothing really," to the question "What did you do today?" The planner could be a great way to start a conversation. Everyone received a paper copy of the newsletter today. Once I receive everyone's newsletter preferences back, I will put together an email list and email out the newsletter if it was requested.
It was wonderful to see so many families and students at the Crawford Ice Cream Social. I just wanted to advertise the 6th Grade Open House, which is where parents and students are welcome to come to the classroom for a more formal explanation of what happens in both 6th grade and in the classroom. You will have a chance to meet with me and the other 6th grade teachers, see the classroom, learn a little more about how we are teaching the subjects, and what our policies are.
6th Grade Open House: FRIDAY, AUGUST 17th at 5:00 - 6:00 We are meeting in the Commons on that night for a 15-20 minute whole 6th grade presentation, then we will have about 20-30 minutes in your homeroom teacher's room, there will be a little time after to meet with your math teacher if desired. (Shhh, don't tell anyone, but there might be a little treat for anyone from our class who comes.) I can't wait to see all of you tomorrow, sitting outside of room 52 before 8:00. Mrs. Trizzino I am so excited that you are here. We are going to have a fantastic year with lots of learning and new experiences. Please look around the class website it should give you a pretty good idea of what we are going to be doing this year and how the class is going to run. Pay special attention to the Policies and Information page under the Teacher Page. It has a lot of information about specific classroom policies pertaining to both homeroom students and math students. This website will be updated regularly and was created for both students and families to use.
The first day of school is August 16, 2018. School starts at 8:00 and the doors open at 7:45. I can't wait to meet all of you. |
